Cottage Le Touroulet Dordogne France
The area

The Dordogne, also known as the Périgord, is known for its excellent local cuisine. It offers overwhelming beauty with its many rivers and chateaux.
Enjoy nature, discover pre-historic caves, visit one of the many local  markets or treat yourselves on the local cuisine.

Your cottage lies in the lush green of the 'Périgord Vert' known for its views, woods, lakes and rivers.

Groceries
The village of St. Jory de Chalais (1.5 miles) has a a small well stocked shop and a boulangerie and butcher. The supermarkets are in Thiviers (8 miles) and La Cocquille (4 miles).

Restaurants
There are suitable restaurants for every budget. Ranging from take away pizza to exclusive 1 star Michelin restaurants for the "gourmandes". At a few minutes walking distance you have a English run small campsite were you can have drinks at the bar or food in the restaurant. Just a bit further (5 min) a bigger campsite offers also great food and a nice bar with international guests. They both offer take away food. We would be happy to advise.

To name but a few possible visits:

Brantôme
The Venice of the Dordogne.
An idyllic old town with magnificent views of the river. The many bridges lead you to the terraces were you can enjoy the local cuisine. Stroll along the river, do shopping, or enjoy the canoeing.
